Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

At Trinity Oaks, every child is cherished, valued and known as an individual. Rooted in our Christian vision, “Where acorns flourish into mighty oaks”, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils, including those with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND), feel loved, included and supported to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

‍We believe that all children can succeed, and we work in partnership with families to remove barriers to learning, nurture strengths and celebrate the unique qualities that each child brings to our school.

Our Inclusive Approach

‍A pupil has SEND if they require provision that is additional to or different from what is typically available to pupils their age, in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015).

Our inclusive culture ensures that most needs are met within our rich, high‑quality classroom teaching, supplemented by targeted support when required. Where appropriate this is supported by targeted and personalised provision, reviewed regularly using the graduated approach of Assess-Plan-Do-Review.

‍We support children across all four recognised areas of SEND:

  • Communication & Interaction

  • Cognition & Learning

  • Social, Emotional & Mental Health

  • Sensory and/or Physical Needs

How We Support Children With SEND

All teachers at Trinity Oaks are teachers of SEND. Provision is overseen by our SENCo & Assistant Head (Inclusion):

Mrs Alice Price – senco@trinityoaks.surrey.sch.uk

Warm, Welcoming Partnership With Families

If you have concerns, your first point of contact is your child’s class teacher, or you may contact the SENCo directly. We promise to listen with kindness, work collaboratively, and ensure clear shared outcomes.

Inclusion Beyond the Classroom

Children with SEND are fully included in clubs, trips, events and wider opportunities. Adjustments are thoughtfully planned so every child can participate confidently and safely.
