Worship and Prayer

WORSHIP

Worship is an integral part of our day where the whole school gather to reflect on both the school values and British Values. Links are made to develop the children’s Biblical understanding while exploring how are values impact on our, and other, lives. Teachers regularly discuss the school values in class, to enable the children to gain a deeper understanding and to reflect on and apply the values in their daily lives and learning.

In order to support the whole school, worship is also planned to reflect the diversity of our community. We recognize the main festivals of the cultures represented in the school and children are encouraged to share their faith with others. Every child is valued and every faith is valued – we look for similarities and shared experiences.

Our worships follow the structure of gather, engage, respond and send.

Gather

We gather together and greet each other. We all come to play a part in this community. We are preparing to meet God.

Engage

We engage with the big things and the little things in life. We encounter Jesus and the stories of the Bible. We are listening for God’s message for us.

Respond

We respond to what we have heard and seen. We respond together as individuals. We are given the opportunity to worship God.

Send

We are sent out to love and serve one another and to make a difference in the world. We are all dismissed with God’s blessing.

PRAYER

At Trinity Oaks all children are invited to pray to God. Where children prefer not to pray to God, they are encouraged to respect the values of other and use the time to reflect on their own thoughts.

Prayer is used as an opportunity to speak to God and give thanks for his many blessings. Prayer at Trinity Oaks links to spirituality and recognising God’s hand our lives.

At the beginnig of every worship children are called to worship using a invitation.

Jesus light of the world is here, Lord Jeusus shine in us… Amen’

This is then followed by the school prayer:

This is our school.

Let peace live here,

Let the rooms be full of happiness,

Let love be all around.

Love for one another,

Love for everyone,

Love for life itself,

And love of God,

Let us remember,

That as many hands build a house,

So many hearts make a school.

Amen

Both of these prayers are signed using Maketon - this ensures inclusivity for all.

Prayer Spaces

We have an allocated prayer space on entry to the school and children are encourgaged to contribute their prayers to this space - talking with God is part of our spirituality offer and, alongside the child led faith group, children are supported to give thanks to God for the wonderful world in which they live as well as seek guidance and help for any challenges that they or others are facing.
