‘Where acorns flourish into might oaks’

Isaiah 61:3

This verse is part of a larger passage in Isaiah that speaks of God's restoration and blessing for those who are mourning and suffering. The phrase "oaks of righteousness" is a metaphor used to describe people who, through God's grace and work in their lives, are strong, upright, and a source of glory to Him. They are seen as a "planting of the Lord," signifying that their growth and strength come from God's hand.

We see our school as a place that supports ALL to flourish and experience life in all its fullness.

For us it is critical that every child flourishes both academically and personally so that they can succeed in life and become positive and responsible citizens.

In order for all to flourish at our school, it is important to us to nourish children’s spiritual development. Spirituality can determine who we are, and our self-understanding. It forms the basis for successful relationships, and shapes our behaviours and outlook on life, others and the world.

Spirituality is personal to every individual. It is not the same as having a religion or faith – a person can be spiritual without a particular faith. At Trinity Oaks spirituality is about experiencing the spirit of ‘other’, making you think.

We offer children experiences of God within a Christian framework, while offering those of another faith or no faith opportunities to be included to express their spirituality.

Spirituality at Trinity Oaks centres around the belief that God sent his spirit to Earth to help people feels God’s presence. For us spirituality is about marvelling in the world around us and feeling Gods hand as the creator.

Spirituality at Trinity Oaks allows children to flourish. Spirituality at Trinity Oaks is about:

  • Joy in the time and moment,

  • Inspiration and curiosity,

  • Love for ourselves and others.

We nurture the spiritual development of our children through every aspect of school life:

  • Through an exciting and engaging curriculum

  • Through play

  • Through creative arts

  • Through relationships and responsibilities

  • Through worship and prayer

At Trinity Oaks the children are supported and encouraged to think about what makes them go ‘wow’ or explore the issues around social justice - where the world does not seem fair.
