Inclusion at Trinity Oaks School

At Trinity Oaks School, inclusion means that every child is valued, respected and supported to flourish, whatever their needs, background or circumstances. Rooted in our Christian vision and values, we are committed to equity, belonging and high expectations for all pupils.

What Inclusion Means to Us

Inclusion means ensuring that all children can access learning, take part in school life and achieve well. We recognise that some pupils need additional support or adjustments at different times, and we work to remove barriers to learning so that high expectations are maintained for everyone.

Inclusion is a whole‑school responsibility, embedded in teaching, curriculum, behaviour, safeguarding and pastoral care.

Who We Support

Our inclusive approach supports all vulnerable groups, including:

  • Pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND)

  • Pupils with medical, mental health or emotional needs

  • Disadvantaged pupils, including those eligible for Pupil Premium

  • Young carers

  • Children in care and previously looked‑after children

  • Pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL)

  • Pupils experiencing family, social or personal challenges

How Inclusion Works

High‑Quality Teaching for All

All pupils benefit from high‑quality, inclusive teaching. Lessons are carefully planned and adapted to support different learning needs, while maintaining ambition for every child. This approach meets many needs within the classroom.

Additional Support When Needed

When a child needs extra help, we follow a graduated approach in line with our SEND Policy:

Assess – Plan – Do – Review.

Support may include targeted interventions, small‑group or individual work, reasonable adjustments, or pastoral support.

Full details of SEND identification, provision and review are available in our SEND Information Report.

Supporting Well‑Being and Belonging

Inclusion at Trinity Oaks goes beyond academics. We provide strong pastoral support, including access to an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) and Home–School Link Worker, to help children feel safe, regulated and ready to learn.

Our relational approach is clear, recognising that behaviour can reflect underlying needs.

Equity and Opportunity

In line with our Diversity and Equity Policy and Pupil Premium Strategy, we work to ensure that no child is disadvantaged because of their circumstances. This includes:

  • Support with access to trips, clubs and enrichment

  • Close monitoring of progress and well‑being

  • Strong partnerships with families and external professionals

Working Together

Parents and carers are central to our inclusive approach. We value open communication and work closely with families to support children effectively.

At Trinity Oaks School, inclusion means belonging, high expectations and support that enables every child to succeed.
