Our maintained school nursery ‘Acorns Nursery’ is an integral part of the school and children learn and play alongside our Reception class as part of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Teaching and learning in the Nursery is planned and led by a qualified teacher and in March 2017 the EYFS was graded as ‘Outstanding’
To get a full picture of our nursery you will probably want to come and see for yourself and we are delighted to show prospective parents around. For information about Open Mornings or to make an appointment with the Headteacher please telephone or e-mail the office.
Learning is planned across a week to develop and build on children’s interests. The week is divided into 10 x 3 hour sessions with parents normally being allocated 5 morning or afternoon sessions. There are 26 places available at each session.
30 hours of funded provision
We provide some 30 hours places for working parents. If you think you are eligible for 30 hours of nursery funding you will need to apply for a code and further information can be found here.
Please indicate on your application form (see below) if you are interested in 30 hours provision
The Governing Body is responsible for the admission of pupils to the Nursery and further information can be found in our Nursery Admissions Policy 2019-20.
Interested parents should complete an Application Form for a nursery place. The form should be returned to the school.
Applications for the academic year 2020-21 will be considered at the same time as those for school places (January 2020). However we welcome applications throughout the year.
Places will be allocated according to the admissions policy and parents informed in writing.
Please note that attendance at the school’s nursery does not guarantee a place in the reception class of the school.
